This policy outlines what data, if any, we collect and how we handle the submissions to our educational gallery.
1. Who We Are

2. Principles of Anonymity
OwnYourVagina.com does not collect any personally identifying information from submitters.
Our submission process is designed to ensure that the image, and the educational data associated with it, cannot be traced back to the person who submitted it.
3. Data Collected During Image Submission
To facilitate the image submission process and allow for future deletion, the system generates and stores the following information:

4. Handling of Submitted Images and Educational Data
- Image Content: Submitted photos are reviewed by administrators before being made public. The image will not be published if it contains any identifying details beyond the vulva and the immediately surrounding areas.
- EXIF Data: You should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. All images uploaded to the public gallery are stripped of all EXIF metadata (including location data) before publication.
- Educational Data: The submission form includes optional, anonymous demographic and research data (e.g., age of vulva owner, ethnicity, nationality, modification status like labiaplasty). This data is separated from any transactional data and used strictly for research and educational statistical purposes, only with the express consent provided during submission.
- Related Submissions: If you opt to relate your image to others (e.g., family members), this relationship is recorded using only the Unique IDs of the images involved. No personally identifying connection is made.
5. Retention and Deletion
- Data Retention: The Unique ID, password hash, submitted image, and educational data are retained indefinitely to serve the educational purpose of the gallery.
- Deletion Rights: If you are a submitter, you have the right to request that your image and all associated educational data be erased. You must submit your request using the Unique ID and the Password you created during the submission process to verify ownership. This does not include any transactional data we may be obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
6. IP Addresses and Cookies
- IP Addresses: IP addresses may be stored in a transactional manner by the web server (e.g., access logs) or website statistics software for general administrative, security, or web traffic analysis purposes. This data is not linked to your submitted image or Unique ID.
- Cookies:
- If you visit our login page (for submission management), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies.
- When you log in to manage your submission, we set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. These cookies contain no personal data and are solely for site functionality.
7. Communication
Comments, contact forms, and communication between users are switched off. There is no means for communication between users, viewers, or submitters through this site.
8. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or share any of the anonymous data (including images, Unique IDs, or educational statistics) with third-party marketers or external organizations.
The OwnYourVagina.com platform is maintained and developed in conjunction with the International Open Sex Education Network (IOSEN), an initiative dedicated to creating open and accessible sex education resources. Access to the technical and statistical data (e.g., website traffic logs, anonymized research data) is restricted to the core administrative team, who are members of this network and are bound by strict confidentiality and ethical guidelines regarding data handling and anonymity.
